Safety and rulesIs Discord mass DM allowed?

Unsolicited bulk DMs break Discord's rules, so BotLunar never sends them. It only messages members who opted in, puts an unsubscribe option in every promotional DM, and stays inside Discord's rate limits. You stay responsible for keeping your content within Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Safety and rulesWill my bot or server get banned?

No tool can honestly promise Discord will never take action, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we control is how carefully we send. Each bot sends one DM every 5 seconds, which is our own limit and slower than Discord's. We never hardcode Discord's limits: when it pushes back we read the wait from its response headers and obey it. Only members who opted in are messaged, every promotional DM carries an unsubscribe option, and one member hears from you at most once in any 24 hours on the daily plan or once in any 7 days on the weekly one, across every campaign you run.

Safety and rulesIs BotLunar approved by or partnered with Discord?

BotLunar is an independent tool built to follow Discord's developer rules and rate limits. It is not affiliated with Discord.

Safety and rulesHow do members opt in?

Through your welcome message, an opt-in button you post, or your server's rules screening if you have declared in writing that it asks for it. We record which of those each member's permission rests on and never merge the three in reporting, so a complaint can be answered with what actually happened rather than an average. Unsubscribing is one tap in any campaign DM, takes effect immediately including for messages already queued, and is permanent: no later sync brings anyone back.

CampaignsHow fast will my campaign send?

12 DMs a minute per bot, which is one every 5 seconds. That is our limit, not Discord's, and Discord would allow more. A server's pace is the sum of its bots, so four sending bots do up to 48 a minute between them while each still waits its 5 seconds. You see an estimated finish time before you press send, and it updates while the campaign runs. More bots make a campaign finish sooner; they never make one member hear from you more often, because the frequency cap counts across every campaign.

Getting startedWhat if my bot goes offline mid campaign?

Add up to two backup bots to any campaign. If your main bot drops, a backup continues from the very next member. Backups never send at the same time as the main bot, so nobody gets a double.

Getting startedWhat happens when a member replies to a DM?

It arrives in your shared inbox, marked unread, with the bot they were talking to attached so your answer comes from the name they recognise. Your whole team works the same queue, and while one person is typing a reply the others can see that, so nobody sends a second answer to the same member. If a member replies asking to be left alone, in any wording we recognise, they are unsubscribed straight away and told so, and a note in the conversation tells your team it was already handled.

Getting startedDo I need my own Discord bot?

Yes, and that is a feature. Messages arrive with your bot's name and avatar, so every DM looks like your brand. Give each bot its own branding or use one look across all of them.

BillingWhy is BotLunar cheaper?

One price for your server size, every feature on every plan, and nothing charged per message. Compare our number against the published price of a comparable tool, at your size, on the pricing page: the market figures there are list prices we checked on a date we name.

More on the homepage
BillingHow does billing work?

Monthly or yearly, priced by how many members your server has. Card payments go through Paddle, which is the merchant of record, so Paddle handles your card details and the sales tax or VAT for your country. Yearly works out at ten and a half months, so you get a month and a half free. You never pay us in crypto.

BillingHow is my price calculated?

By the total member count of the server you run campaigns in, not by how many members opted in. Pick the tier that covers your server size. Over 50,000 members, your server is Lunar Enterprise, priced for you by our team.

More on pricing
BillingWhat if my server has more than 50,000 members?

Every server over 50,000 members is Lunar Enterprise. The prices for Lunar Weekly and Lunar Daily stop at 50,000 members, and above that our team prices your server by hand. The Lunar Managed service, where our team plans and runs your campaigns for you, is available on it. There is no self serve checkout for Lunar Enterprise: contact us from the pricing page and we will come back to you with a price.

More on pricing
BillingWhat is the difference between Lunar Weekly and Lunar Daily?

Only campaign frequency. Lunar Weekly lets each member receive up to one campaign in any 7 days. Lunar Daily allows up to one campaign in any 24 hours. The window is counted back from each message, not a calendar week or day, so a member messaged on Monday at 10:00 can hear from you again from the next Monday at 10:00. Every tool is included on both.

More on pricing
BillingDoes Lunar Daily mean every member is messaged within a day?

No. Lunar Daily raises how often each member can receive a campaign. How long a campaign takes to deliver depends on your audience size and on how many bots are sending it, because each bot has its own pace. The live finish time shows you exactly where each send stands.

More on pricing
BillingAre there per-message fees or add-ons?

No. One flat monthly price per server. Filters, welcome flow, email capture, inbox, analytics, automation and up to 2 backup bots per campaign are included on every plan.

More on pricing
BillingHow do you compare to other Discord DM tools?

The same reach for less, every single month. Both plans undercut industry pricing at every server size, and the table above shows the exact numbers side by side so you can judge for yourself.

More on pricing
BillingWhat happens if my server grows?

Move to the tier that matches your new size. Your campaigns, automations and settings stay exactly as they are.

More on pricing
BillingWhen will I be charged?

Card payments are being added before launch, handled by Paddle as the merchant of record. Nothing is charged until they go live and you are told first.

More on pricing
CampaignsHow many members can one campaign reach?

Every opted-in member in the server you target, within your plan. Big audiences simply take longer, because each bot sends at a steady pace that stays well inside Discord's limits. Connecting another bot to the server shortens it. The finish time shows you how long before you send.

More on mass DM campaigns
Safety and rulesCan I DM members who have not opted in?

No. Members without a recorded opt-in are never messaged by a campaign. That rule protects your server and your members.

More on mass DM campaigns
FeaturesWhat happens if a member has DMs turned off?

Discord rejects the DM, and BotLunar records it as failed with the reason. It is never retried in a way that breaks the rules, and it shows up honestly in your analytics.

More on mass DM campaigns
CampaignsCan I test a campaign first?

Yes. Use the Only me filter to send the campaign to yourself and check exactly how it looks before your members see it.

More on mass DM campaigns
FeaturesHow many DMs does a new member get?

Exactly one. Its purpose is to ask for their email address. There is no follow-up sequence and no reminders.

More on welcome messages
FeaturesWhat is stored when someone opts in?

The consent record itself, its source, which is the rules screening, and the timestamp. If they give an email, that is stored with the same record.

More on welcome messages
FeaturesDoes it message members who joined before I switched it on?

No. The flow only runs for members who opt in at the rules screening after it is live. Reach existing opted-in members with a campaign instead.

More on welcome messages
FeaturesWhat if a new member has DMs turned off?

Discord rejects the DM and BotLunar records it honestly. Nothing is retried in a way that breaks the rules.

More on welcome messages
FeaturesDo members have to give their email?

Never. The ask is always optional, and members who skip it keep receiving your Discord campaigns as normal.

More on email capture
FeaturesHow is consent recorded?

When a member saves their email, BotLunar stores it with the member and the time they agreed. You stay responsible for your own privacy obligations to your members.

More on email capture
FeaturesCan emails be sent with campaigns?

Yes. Members who opted into email can get an instant email copy of a campaign, delivered alongside the Discord DM.

More on email capture
FeaturesWhere is the data covered?

Everything BotLunar stores is described in our Privacy Policy, including how you can view data in your dashboard and request deletion.

More on email capture
FeaturesCan members reply to campaign DMs?

Yes. Members reply the same way they reply to any DM, and the reply lands in your BotLunar inbox.

More on two-way inbox
FeaturesWho does my reply come from?

From the bot that sent the campaign, with its name and avatar, so the member sees one continuous conversation.

More on two-way inbox
FeaturesWhat happens when a member types unsubscribe?

They are flagged as unsubscribed and removed from every future campaign, and you can see that in the thread.

More on two-way inbox
FeaturesDoes replying count toward frequency caps?

Frequency caps limit how many campaigns a member receives. Answering a member who wrote to you is a conversation, not a new campaign.

More on two-way inbox
FeaturesDo you track open rates?

No. Discord does not report when a DM is read, so we do not invent a number. We show what Discord actually confirms.

More on analytics
FeaturesWhat counts as delivered?

A DM is delivered when Discord accepts it for the member. If Discord rejects it, it is counted as failed with the reason.

More on analytics
FeaturesHow is the finish time calculated?

From the members left to message and the pace of the bots carrying the campaign, which is the sum of their individual paces. It updates as the send goes, including when Discord asks one of them to wait.

More on analytics
FeaturesCan I see past campaigns?

Yes. Every campaign keeps its delivery history so you can compare results over time.

More on analytics
FeaturesDo automations follow frequency caps?

Yes. Automated campaigns count toward each member's cap across all campaigns combined, so automation never means more messages than your plan allows.

More on automation
FeaturesCan automations message members who have not opted in?

No. Automations follow the same rule as every campaign: only members with a recorded opt-in are messaged.

More on automation
FeaturesCan I pause an automation?

Any time, with one switch. Paused automations stop firing until you turn them back on.

More on automation
FeaturesDo automations slow down my other campaigns?

They share whichever bots they are sent by, and each bot sends at its own pace, so work queued on the same bot takes turns. Giving a busy server another bot adds a second budget rather than dividing the first.

More on automation
FeaturesDo backup bots send at the same time as the main bot?

Never. A backup only sends while the main bot is offline, so there is only ever one sender and members never get duplicates.

More on backup bots
FeaturesDo backups make campaigns faster?

No, and that is on purpose. A standby only sends while the main bot is offline, so it is never a second sender. Extra sending bots are a different thing and do make a campaign faster, because Discord counts its rate limits per bot token.

More on backup bots
FeaturesWhat happens when the main bot comes back?

It returns to standby while the backup finishes, keeping a single sender at all times.

More on backup bots
FeaturesAre backup bots included on my plan?

Yes. Up to two backup bots per campaign are included on every plan.
